Vince McMahon Reportedly Has Payed Over $12 Million In Hush Money Over 16 Years
July 8, 2022Vince has paid four women in the last 16 years.
Last month a report came out from the Wall Street Journal that Vince McMahon had agreed to pay $3 million to a former employee he was sexually involved with in order for her to sign a nondisclosure agreement to not talk about the relationship. Since then the WWE Board of Directors have begun an investigation into the NDA and have reportedly uncovered three more NDAs over the last 16 years.
According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, they are now reporting that Vince McMahon has paid roughly $12 million over the last 16 years to women agreeing to sign NDAs regarding sexual misconduct and infidelity allegations. The report states that there are now four of these types of payments that McMahon has made with the previously reported one and three new ones becoming public in the new article posted Friday.
The report states that McMahon was involved with a former wrestler who stated, “coerced her into giving him oral sex and then demoted her and, ultimately, declined to renew her contract in 2005 after she resisted further sexual encounters.” In 2018 she agreed to a $7.5 million agreement per the report after she and her lawyer approached McMahon about the incident. She agreed to of course stay silent on the matter for the payment.
Another case has to do with a WWE contractor who shared unsolicited nude photos of McMahon with the company. She stated that he had sexually harassed her on the job. In 2008 she agreed to sign a nondisclosure agreement for $1 million.
The final one regarding McMahon reported was with a former manager that McMahon had worked with for 10 years who said he initiated a sexual relationship with her. In 2006, she agreed to a $1 million payment after signing an NDA.
Yet McMahon is not the only one with NDAs the board is looking into per this new report. They note that back in 2012 a nondisclosure agreement was reached with an employee who claimed misconduct against John Laurinaitis. In that incident, a $1.5 million agreement was made for her to sign an NDA. Interestingly, Laurinaitis stepped down as head of talent relations back in 2012 before being placed back in the role just last year. Laurinaitis is currently not in the role right now and on administrative since the first NDA agreement came to light.
In closing the article notes how the WWE Board of Directors are currently investigating the cases with the former wrestler and the paralegal specifically, along with the case involving Laurinaitis as well. The original investigation started back in April and it is unclear when any other these other nondisclosure agreements were found out about since.
