McMahon does not want to sit and wait.

Back in January, a lawsuit was filed against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE regarding a number of different things including grooming and sex trafficking. Back in mid-June, the lawsuit was put on pause at the request of the Department of Justice. The DOJ is conducting its own investigation into McMahon and has asked for the Janel Grant suit to pause till December 11th, 2024. Even though it was initially agreed on, McMahon’s side now looks like they don’t want that.

On Thursday Vince McMahon’s legal team filed a motion to lift the court-ordered stay in the Grant lawsuit. McMahon’s team issued a statement to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics stating the following,

“Today’s motion is in response to Ms. Grant’s flagrant violation of the federal Stay Order. After telling the Federal Court that she would pause her lawsuit, Ms. Grant immediately violated the Stay Order seeking one-sided discovery for her own benefit. Her lawyer told the media that the information sought in the new Connecticut state action is ‘to assist in our claims in the federal action.’ We are asking the federal Court to ensure that Plaintiff abides by the Court’s order and if she does not that civil contempt and financial sanctions may result.”

With Grant’s side filing a petition to request medical records from Peak Wellness and its owner Carlon Colker, the McMahon side said that goes against the stay and if they can do that then the stay is being violated and it should be removed.
