Update To The Janel Grant v. McMahon, WWE Lawsuit
May 7, 2025There has been a new development in the Janel Grant lawsuit.
For the last year, we have been hearing about the Janel Grant lawsuit against WWE, Vince McMahon, and John Laurinaitis. We have seen the suit go threw many twists and turns and the latest turn has taken place.
Judge Sara F. Russell of the United States District Court of Connecticut is allowing the Janel Grant side to file an amended complaint against the defendants. The new complaint was officially entered today as a new 101 page document. Russell wrote,
βIt is certainly clear that some of Grantβs proposed amendments include facts she knew or should have known when she filed the Complaint, but her newly pleaded facts do not deprive Defendants of their ability to timely assert that her claims are subject to arbitration. I accordingly decline to find her amendments are in bad faith.β
As far as the case going to arbitration, Judge Russell sided with the defendants regarding holding off on discovery. The issue of the case going to arbitration or not depends on wither the judge will hold up the clause in the NDA that states any lawsuit filed can not go to discovery. Yet Grant’s side is trying to get the NDA thrown out altogether.
The defendants have till June 11 to file a motion to compel arbitration. After that, the Grant side will have till July 11 to respond.
