Will Fenix be able to wrestle in the second round.

Last night on AEW Dynamite we saw Fenix take on his brother Pentagon in the first round of AEW’s World title Eliminator Tournament. In the match, the two were fighting on the second ropes and Fenix went for a twisting head scissors. When he came down he crashed awkwardly on his head, neck, and left shoulder. It was stated that after Fenix seemed okay was just sore. The issue if Fenix will be able to wrestle Kenny Omega in round two.

According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, Alvarez stated that there is concern that Fenix will not be able to wrestle in the second round of the tournament. the issue is the show next week will not be a live week but instead, it is being taped today. That gives Fenix less than 24 hours to recover and be cleared, not a full week.

If Fenix is not cleared today for that match is no 100% clear what they will do with the tournament match against Kenny Omega. The only real option would be to put Pentagon in that spot since he was already in the tournament. They could always give Omega an automatic bye to the next round but that does not seem like it would be the case.

If we hear anything further on Fenix’s status and if he will be able to work the match against Omega or not, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
