Update On Becky Lynch’s Curent Status With WWE

What’s up with Lynch’s contract status?

Two weeks ago on RAW, Becky Lynch stated that her contract with the WWE was about to expire and she used that to get her match with Asuka. She stated that she was not going to sign a new deal unless WWE gave her that match and the match has been set for the Royal Rumble. As far as the contract coming up, that is nothing more than just a storyline way for Lynch to get the match.

It was first reported back in March of 2019 by Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, that Becky Lynch was expected to sign a contract extension, everything was agreed on and she just needed to “put pen to paper.” We were even told by a source over the summer that Lynch had, in fact, signed a new contract in the first half of 2019.

Now according to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reports that Lynch did sign a new contract back in 2019 for $1 million per year.

So with all of that known and for those wondering, no Becky Lynch’s contract was not coming up here in early 2020 as she signed a new deal a little less than one year ago. Also, from everything we have heard, Lynch is said to be really happy in WWE. Even if her contract was coming up here soon, she would not be expected to leave the company
