January 16, 2025The Janel Grant side got some news they were hoping for today.
Now granted the lawsuit was on a pause for six months but we are coming up on the one year mark of when the lawsuit itself was filed. In that time Vince McMahon left WWE, was investigated by the federal government, and is reportedly trying to start an entertainment company. McMahon and WWE’s side have been trying to get the case sent to arbitration and on Thursday Grant got the news she was looking for.
The United States District of Connecticut District Judge Sarah F. Russel has issued a ruling on Janel Grant wanting a status conference for her lawsuit against McMahon, John Laurinitis, and WWE as she denied that motion. Yet she did now the stay, or pause, has been lifted so Grant can file her amended complaint against the defendants. She was originally supposed to do so by January 15 and now she has been given till January 31 to do so.
The judge has also ruled the WWE and McMahon’s attempt to get the case to arbitration has been denied till after Grant files her amended complaint. Yet if she does not, the court will rule on arbitration after January 31.
