Triple H’s New Role In WWE Seen As A Demotion, Now Only Working With NXT

Triple H’s role in WWE has changed and he is not as responsible for as much.

Last week SEC filings revealed that Triple H has a new executive title within WWE. Triple H is now listed as the ‘Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy and Development. Some see this as a demotion.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reports that many in the company see this move as a demotion for Triple H. Meltzer states that Triple H is basically now only working with the NXT brand. His main duties are now NXT, selling NXT TV rights overseas and expanding NXT globally. It was also stated that this move was actually done four months before it was made public and it is odd they kept this quiet.

In his old role, Triple H was the guy negotiating with talent on deals, but he is no longer doing so. Brad Blum, Vince McMahon’s Cheif of Staff is now in that role. Staff members like Mark Carrano who used to report to Triple H do not anymore and now report to Blum.

it is not clear where this could lead to with Triple H’s status in the company, but as of right now it looks like he no longer has any say or pull when it comes to the main roster and is solely working with the NXT brand that he did basically create years ago.
