Top WWE Superstar To Star In ‘Walking Tall’ Remake

In 1973 we got the movie Walking Tall starring Joe Don Baker about a pro wrestler who retires and becomes a sheriff before finding out his hometown is being run by a wealthy casino owner also running a prostitution ring out of the casino. In 2004 the movie was remade starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson with the main change being the name of the main character and that he was retired military, not a retired wrestler. Now it looks like Walking Tall will be remade again with a female lead this time.
According to a report from Deadline, they report that the third incarnation of Walking Tall is in the works with WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair attached to star in the movie. The report states that they are looking to make future installments and having as an ongoing series. No word if the plan would be for Flair to star in more than one film in the series if multiple are made. The former version both had follow-ups as well.
Outside of WWE Flair only has two acting credits on her resume. Back in 2017, she appeared in Psych: The Movie for the USA Network. Flair also appeared in the 2021 reboot of Punky Brewster for NBC Universal’s Peacock alongside Alexa Bliss.
It sounds like the movie is in the early stages of development and if we hear anything else regarding Flair staring in a remake of Walking Tall, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
