Top Superstar Added To Friday’s Smackdown
May 2, 2025WWE has added another name to Smackdown.
Coming up this Friday, WWE will be in Des Moines, Iowa, for Smackdown. Not much has been announced for the show, with only one match announced so far. Thursday evening, a new name was announced for the show.
WWE has announced that Randy Orton will appear on this week’s Smackdown. Orton will challenge John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Backlash one week from Saturday. It doesn’t look like Cena will be on the show as well.
The final chapter in the storied rivalry between Randy Orton and Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena reached a fever pitch last week when the two Superstars came face-to-face in a volatile encounter.
With their title showdown set for WWE Backlash, The Viper is scheduled to be live on SmackDown, Friday at 8 ET/7 CT on USA.
So far only two things have been announced for this week’s Smackdown.
- Randy Orton will appear
- The Miz vs Aleister Black
