Tony Khan Comments On Meeting With Shane McMahon
August 6, 2024Tony “really enjoyed” his meeting with Shane.
Last week a photo and reports came out that AEW President Tony Khan had a meeting with Shane McMahon in Arlington, Texas. No other details of the meeting were reported other than that it seemingly went well. McMahon released a positive statement on the meeting to Busted Open Radio and now Khan is talking about it as well.
While appearing on Sedano & Kap Tuesday, Tony Khan talked about the meeting coming together and he really enjoyed what took place.
“Well, as I understand, he’s not doing anything with WWE, and I had a really nice visit with him. I had heard from a lot of people that he was interested in talking and it had become, frankly, a big media story to the point where I was getting asked on the record questions about it and I answered them, and just like I’ll answer you now.
I had never met him in advance of my first conversation with him. There was a lot of buzz about this so I thought it would certainly be worth talking and I have a lot of respect for him. I had never met him but he seemed like a really nice guy. I sat down with him, he was fantastic. I really enjoyed talking to him and he is a very smart person about wrestling and I thought he was a great guy and we have a lot of mutual friends and we both happened to be in Dallas.”
When asked about how things came together Khan noted how they were linked up by a mutual friend. As far as who that mutual friend may be, that could be Mercedes Mone as she posted last week she took the picture.

As far as Shane coming in and working with AEW that is still unknown. We do not know what was discussed at the meeting and if anything will ever come of it. If we do hear anything else on the possibility of McMahon coming to AEw, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
