Title Match & Segment Set for Next Week’s Smackdown

Next week is already looking interesting for the blue brand.

Last night on Smackdown we saw a champion celebration that led to a big debut and set up for a title match next week. Also, Jeff Hardy was interviewed regarding his issues with Sheamus and next week Sheamus will address Hardy.

First off while holding his Intercontinental Championship celebration AJ Styles talked about not just giving title shots and people earning them. Daniel Bryan then asked why Drew Gulak is not in line for an IC Title shot since two weeks ago he defeated Styles the week before he became the champion. AJ would be met by the debuting Matt Riddle and would de be defeated by the former NXT Tag Team Champion.

With that now next week AJ will defend the IC title against Drew Gulak after Daniel Bryan’s claims the Gulak deserved a shot at Styles and the belt.

In a backstage interview conducted by Renee Young, she spoke with Jeff Hardy on her issues with Sheamus. Hardy stated that he does not think Sheamus has a problem with him but rather himself. He called Sheamus miserable, and an insecure bully who mistakes vulnerability for weakness. Hardy would say Sheamus is a constant reminder of what he doesn’t like about himself. With all that said, Sheamus was interviewed and stated that he would like to raise a glass and have a toast to Jeff Hardy on next week’s show.

So far this is the only stuff that has been announced for next week’s Friday Night Smackdown. Also due to scheduling issues next week’s Smackdown that was planned to be filmed this week has yet to be recorded.
