A new champion was crowned tonight.

Tonight we saw Friday Night Smackdown from New Orleans and it was a really good show with a great Smackdown Women’s Title match in the main event. After the show, they filmed next week’s Smackdown since they will be in Saudi Arabia and not able to do Smackdown live. With that WWE has revealed a title change that took place at the tapings.

WWE revealed that Sami Zayn has become the brand new Intercontinental Champion defeating Shinsuke Nakamura.

During a special SmackDown taping on Feb. 11, Sami Zayn defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to capture the Intercontinental Championship.

Tune in to SmackDown next Friday at 8/7 C on FOX to see how The Master Strategist emerged victorious in the hard-fought battle for the gold!

Along with this match set for next week’s Smackdown, the only other thing announced is a face-to-face between Roman Reigns and Goldberg before their Universal Title match at Elimination Chamber.
