Title Change Takes Place At Halloween Havoc

A title changed hands in the first match of the night.

Tonight is the NXT Halloween Havoc event on the USA Network. The night kicked off with a Deamon’s Playground match with the NXT North American Championship on the line and that title now has a new champion holding it.

During Halloween Havoc, we saw Johnny Gargano defeat Damian Priest to become the new NXT North American Champion. With this title win, Gargano becomes the first every two-time North American Champion in NXT. Gargano may have pinned Priest to win, but he did not do it on his own.

As Priest had the advantage on Gargano and the two were fighting near the wheel, someone in a Scream costume appeared and attacked Priest with a pipe. Gargano was then handed a tombstone that he hit Priest with sending him flying on the podium they were on. Gargano would go for the pin and do so to become the new champion.

As far as title matches do go tonight, we still have the NXT Women’s Title match on the line as well. That match will see Candie LeRae challenge Io Shirai for the title in a match type that will be determined when the wheel is spun later tonight.
