Tetsuya Naito’s First Title Defense Announced

This past weekend may have been the biggest two days int the storied career of Tetsuya Naito. Not only did he defeat Jay White on night one of Wrestle Kingdom to become the new Intercontinental champion, but he then defeated Kazuchika Okada to also become the IWGP Heavyweight Champion on night two. This made Naito the first event Double Dash champion. Yet his celebration was cut short when he was attacked by Kenta.
The next night Naito and Kenta met at New Year Dash in a tag team match but their next encounter has been announced.
Tonight at the post-Wrestle Kingdom press conference Naito’s first defense of the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Champions was announced with KENTA as the challenger. The two men will meet on February 9th a the New Beginning in Osaka event.
