July 21, 2021 0 By Tim Jarrell

NXT sets possible TakeOver main event.

Tonight from the Capitol Wrestling Center, WWE filmed the next two weeks of NXT. These shows will air on SYFY due to the Olympics. It’s still not known why WWE felt they needed to pre-tape these shows instead of running live. Regardless they set up a big NXT Title Match for TakeOver.

During the tapings, it was announced that Samoa Joe will challenge Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver 36 on Sunday, August 22nd.

The setup was Joe coming out and giving NXT General Manager William Regal his resignation. He then said instead of Regal firing Kross for attack him, Joe wanted him at TakeOver. Regal then agreed to make the match and paperwork was signed to make it official.

This match at Takeover will end up being Samoa Joe’s first match since February 10, 2020 on RAW when he teamed with Kevin Owens & The Viking Raiders against Seth Rollins, Murphy & AOP.

We will continue to bring you more spoilers from tonight’s NXT TV tapings both here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
