We learned on Thursday night that Roman Reigns made the decision to pull himself from WrestleMania. He felt with his compromised immune system it was not safe for him to continue to wrestle right now. We now know who will replace him.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer reports that Braun Strowman is the one who will replace Reigns at WrestleMania to challenge Goldberg for the Universal Championship. Meltzer stated that he is under the impression that a segment will be added to tonight’s Smackdown to set up Goldberg as the new challenger to Goldberg.
When the news of Reigns being out broke last night, WrestleVotes tweeted a gif or Roman Reigns hugging Braun Strowman. Many felt that was saying Strowman was the new challenger but since WrestleVotes gave no context to that tweet so it could not be reported till someone like Meltzer confirmed it.
