SPOILER ALERT: Big Title Change Takes Place At IMPACT Tapings In Mexico

Tonight IMPACT Wrestling ended one of their more historic title reigns.

Over the last year, Taya had been the IMPACT Knockouts Champions holding the title longer and defending it more than any champion before her. Many felt that Taya’s title reign may have come to an end last weekend at the Hard To Kill event but instead that pushed it back a little bit. Saturday night, during night two of the most recent tv tapings in Mexico we saw Jordynne Grace defeat Taya to win the title for the first time.

This is great for Grace, but it is a little odd based on what was filmed the night before. On Friday night a big focus at the television tapings was a champion vs champion angle. They heavily teased IMPACT World Champion Tessa Blanchard vs Knockouts Champion Taya. We were told but someone who was at the tapings tonight that there was no mention of the Tessa vs Taya storyline like there was the night prior.

As far as Taya’s future with the company right now, that is not known. Her husband John Morrison just returned to WWE and we have heard that some she is close within WWE have pushed for her to make the jump as well.

When it comes to Grace winning the title, some may actually say this is a long time coming and if it was not for the company wanting Taya to have the year-long title reign, Grace would have won the title sooner. Grace has been one of the most popular wrestlers in all of IMPACT over the last year so putting the title on her to lead the Knockouts division as we move into a new decade is a no brainer.
