College football could impact Smackdown on FOX.

Since 2019 Friday Night Smackdown has aired on FOX almost every single week. There have been some weeks when FOX has a bigger sporting event like the World Series that is set to air on FOX and they end up airing Smackdown on FS1. Well starting this September it looks as if Smackdown could end its time with FOX on FS1.

FoxSports announced today that starting this fall they will air ‘Primetime College Football’ on Friday nights on FOX starting this fall. When looking at when FOX will begin airing the Friday night games, that could kick off in September. With that said, according to a report from the Associated Press, they note with games starting to air in September on FOX, a couple of games would move Smackdown to FS1 during its final month with FoxSports

The college football package will fill a void for Fox on Friday nights during the fall when WWE’s “Friday Night SmackDown” moves to USA Network in October. A couple of games could air on Fox in September with “SmackDown” moving to FS1, which is what happened during the baseball playoffs and World Series.

At this time it is unclear how many games could move Smackdown to FS1 in September as an official schedule has yet to be released.

Remember Smackdown will be moving from FOX back to the USA Network starting this September as RAW and NXT will both move off the network at the same time.

If we do hear anything further on the scheduling issues for Smackdown this fall before they move to USA, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
