Several WWE Superstars Could Miss Tonight’s Smackdown & More
September 30, 2022Hurricane Ian could impact tonight’s Friday Night Smackdown.
Friday Night Smackdown comes to us from Winnipeg, Canada tonight and three things have been announced for the show so far. Having this little announced the morning of the show is not uncommon, but more may have not been announced because several people could miss the show tonight due to Hurricane Ian that came through Florida this week.
Within WWE a number of people live in the state of Florida whether that is Orlando or Tampa. This past week Hurricane Ian hit the state and the Tampa airport was shut down Tuesday evening and the Orlando airport was shut down Wednesday morning. Both airports are set to reopen today, but because of that, it seems as if WWE superstars who live in those areas may not be able to get out and get to Winnipeg for tonight’s show.
Dave Meltzer wrote in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that travel may not just impact Smackdown tonight, but the live events this weekend as well.
“WWE was also concerned over the Florida talent and their ability to get to Smackdown on 9/30 in Winnipeg and for the weekend house shows in Bismarck, ND, and Regina and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. At least some booked talent living in the Orlando area won’t be able to make the shows.”
We do not know exactly who could miss the show tonight but if we do hear anything on who could and any changes that could be made, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
