ROH really upping the antie to keep The Villain.

As of the new year, Marty Scurll is a free agent in the world of professional wrestling. He is not officially signed to any one company despite showing up at the last NWA pay-per-view and being advertised for multiple ROH events till April. It now looks like not only is ROH offering Scurll possibly one of the best money deals anyone has ever got for the company but they are also going a step further to re-sign The Villian.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reports that ROH has offered a new contract that has him working only 40 dates a year and getting WWE main roster level pay.

We had heard Scurll was being offered a better deal than the one Matt Taven signed for. We don’t have it confirmed that he signed it. It’s a great deal as it’s basically WWE main roster money while only working maybe 40 dates per year for ROH and certain unique perks.

As far as what those unique perks may be, Meltzer updated this story today in his daily update reporting that basically they are offering Scurll a possible non-exclusive contract.

Marty Scurll has not signed a new contract bit it very close. The deal will include him wrestling in ROH, New Japan and NWA. There looks to be more than that as well as the door contractually would not be closed to AEW.

With that, it looks like ROH is going so far as to say we will give you all this money, little dates and oh you can go work for other companies as well when we don’t have shows. This is big as in recent years ROH has been signing the guys with the bigger money deals to exclusive deals.

As stated by Meltzer, Scurll has yet to sign a new contract with Ring Of Honor and if we do hear any change in that we will keep you posted.
