Reported Reason Why WWE Changed Matt Riddle’s Name

Riddle lost his first name due to a current lawsuit & Google.

Earlier this week WWE updated the roster page for Matt Riddle to only say “Riddle” and it was then reported that Riddle had his first name cut by the company. It was a move that really did not make sense since it was his real name. Yet not the first time a superstar has lost his first or last name,.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reports that this change has to due with a current lawsuit out on both Riddle and the Company. The report states that WWE did not want people to google search “Matt Riddle” and details of this lawsuit come up. The decision to change the name was made on October 29th.

Riddle himself also took to social media to tell people that the name change is not that big of a deal and that he actually prefers it.

Matt Riddle is not the first and certainly will not be the last to cut part of his name cut in WWE. The question is as we have seen with some, will he ever get it back?
