Recently Released WWE Superstar Back With The Company

A former champion is back with WWE.

In 2021 WWE released over 80 superstars from the company. We have seen on a few instances that WWE could release someone and they could end up back with the company not long after the release. This happened in 2020 and it has happened again with some for the second time.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Johson reported that former WWE 24/7 Champion Drake Maverick who was released back in November is already back with WWE. The report states that Maverick is actually working in a backstage role with the company on the RAW creative team. Johnson also states that he began in the role three to four weeks ago.

If you don’t remember, back in 2020 Maverick was released by WWE and created a video about how hard that hit him. Due to the reactions to that video Maverick was quickly re-hired to WWE. He would work for a while in NXT before being brought back up to the main roster on RAW before being released this past November.

The interesting thing is that the last time he was released by WWE, that video was not about how sad he was about being released but how this could be a good thing, he will become Rockstar Spud again and not as upset this time.
