CW happy with the NXT debut.

The highly anticipated debut of WWE NXT on the CW Network has sparked significant reactions from both fans and industry insiders. This historic shift of NXT to a major broadcast network like CW marks an important milestone in professional wrestling’s mainstream resurgence.

With NXT now airing on the CW, the WWE is positioning its developmental brand for even greater exposure. Fans have been vocal on social media, and initial feedback indicates excitement over this bold move. The partnership is expected to introduce new audiences to the future stars of WWE while giving existing NXT fans more ways to follow their favorite brand.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, he indicated that the CW Network was very happy with the numbers NXT was able to pull in. In the same time slot the previous week they ran reruns of The Conners and those only garnered around 300-400,000 viewers. NXT getting almost 900,000 viewers thrilled those at the CW as they would have been happy with 500,00 viewers. Johnson states that the number had them celebrating.

It will be interesting to see if NXT can maintain this number moving forward. The CW just recently started airing the NASCAR Xfinity series and in the first week, they had 906,000 viewers for the race at Bristol. Yet the following week, the race at Kansas only averaged 722,000 viewers. It will be interesting to see if NXT also sees a similar drop or not.
