Preview For Tonight’s Friday Night Smackdown

Preview For Tonight’s Friday Night Smackdown

January 28, 2022 0 By Tim Jarrell

WWE has announced four things for tonight.

Tonight is Friday Night Smackdown and the go-home show before tomorrow’s WWE Royal Rumble premium live event. As far as the show tonight in Kansas City, Missouri, four things have been announced.

First off Seth Rollins will be on the show to deliver a personal message to the Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Just 24 hours before their epic collision at the Royal Rumble for the Universal Title, Seth “Freakin” Rollins heads to SmackDown to deliver a message to The Head of the Table Roman Reigns.

After The Usos fired back at Seth Rollins in response to being banned from ringside in Saturday’s showdown, The Visionary elected to send his message in person, unlike Reigns.

With a history that’s crossed paths over the better part of a decade, what will Rollins have to say to his former Shield brother?

As far as action does go three matches have been announced with the first seeing a rematch from Day 1. The team of Ricochet and Cesaro will take on Sheamus and the returning Ridge Holland. Holland has been out since Day 1 after stuffing a broken nose in that tag team match.

For the first time since having his nose broken at WWE Day 1, Ridge Holland joins forces with his mentor Sheamus in the hopes of getting his retribution on Ricochet and his partner Cesaro for the injury.

Holland made his way back to SmackDown last Friday night to cheer on The Celtic Warrior as he bested Ricochet with a massive Brogue Kick, welcoming his protégé back to the Blue Brand with a hug following the pinfall victory.

With The Swiss Cyborg now in his corner, will Ricochet & Cesaro spoil Holland’s first match back in nearly a month, or will the two bruisers toast to a victory?

Keeping with tag team action, The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Big E will be taking on the team of Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss.

Madcap Moss was all smiles after he scored the biggest victory of his career, pinning former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, on the Jan. 14 edition of SmackDown.

With King Woods injured, The Hand of the King responded by calling upon his New Day brethen Big E to journey from Raw to help neutralize the always pesky Happy Corbin for their rematch. Not only did Big E oblige by hurling Corbin into the steel steps when the jovial Superstar opted to interfere in the matchup, but also after Kingston’s win, The Powerhouse of Positivity also hit a post-match Big Ending on Moss while Corbin refused to step between the ropes.

So here’s a joke: two former WWE Champions, heralded as two-thirds of arguably the greatest faction of all time, walk into a ring …  OK, you’ve heard it. Find out what happens when The Power of Positivity collides with Happy Corbin & Madcap Moss, tonight at 8/7 C on FOX.

Finally, we do know that Naomi will get her one-on-one match with Sonya Deville after asking for this match for weeks.

After abusing her power at the expense of Naomi week after week, WWE Official Sonya Deville’s reached perhaps a new low on the Jan. 21 edition of SmackDown. Deville made herself the Special Guest Referee in Naomi’s Championship Contender’s rematch against SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and made sure The Glowing Superstar lost via the Figure-Four Leglock without Naomi even tapping out.

Later on the blue brand, WWE Official Adam Pearce, alongside visiting WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff, informed Deville that her issues with Naomi had to end. As a result, she will finally be force to take on The Glow in a one-on-one matchup tonight at 8/7 C on FOX.

So far these four things are the only things announced for tonight’s Smackdown. If we do hear anything else regarding tonight’s blue branded show on FOX, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
