Yukes and AEW are said to be butting heads.

All Elite Wrestling has been working long and hard on their upcoming video game “AEW: Fight Forever” with the game rumored to be out around this September. We have not seen much regarding the game, yet today they did confirm the name of the game. We saw the character models of Krist Statlander and Nyla Rose as well as the news that the game will be on console and PC. With hearing this, it is being reported that everything may not be going so smoothly with the development of this game.

According to Mike Straw of Sports Gamers Online, Straw reports that there has been a lot of discourse between the teams from AEW and Yuke’s. Sources have indicated that the relationship between the two, specifically with Kenny Omega is in the best place at the moment. Speaking of Omega, the report states that Omega has found himself frustrated and “hating” working with Yuke’s. One person noted how it has come across as if some at Yuke’s has tried to take advantage of Omega who is in an inexperienced role here for him

Straw goes on to note how AEW has invested significant money into development, but that the game itself is “way over budget” at this point. With being over budget, it has actually required an extra investment. The budget itself has led to a number of features of the game either being less than originally planned or cut altogether.

It was reported this week by Fightful that the roster size in the game may only be around 50 wrestlers at launch even though AEW has well over double that if not triple that on the roster. Straw confirmed that same number saying they do want to be able to increase the roster with DLC post-launch. Yet as far as DLC goes, Yuke’s is said to want a long-term agreement for further development on the game before planning any DLC and that is something AEW is said to not be ready to commit to.

Finally the report notes how with all the issues they have had thus far with the development of the game, this could be a “one and done” between AEW and Yuke’s as there are some on both sides feeling this. The report notes that the relationship could be repaired, but that comes down to desire. If either side does not want to continue, AEW will look for a new partner in the future.

It is unknown what all of these issues could have on the final product of the game and when it will release, if we do hear anything else regarding the AEW video game, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
