Possible Front Runner For 2023 Royal Rumble Location

Royal Rumble going to a dome.

WWE has wanted to make the Royal Rumble feel like a bigger deal event over the last six years with the last four of the last five being inside Baseball Stadiums. Yes, you can say 2021 was inside of a baseball field at Tropicana Field even though it was set up as the WWE ThunderDome. With that, it looks like next year they are looking at a dome that they have used for the Rumble twice in the past.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Sapp reports that the current front runner to host the 2023 Royal Rumble event is the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The last time the WWE ran the Royal Rumble from the Alamodome was back in 2017. They also used the Alamodome all the way back in 1997. That was the first time the Royal Rumble took place outside of a traditional arena venue.

Sapp also noted something interesting that last year the Alamodome was actually in consideration to host SummerSlam before they locked in having it in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium.

Now the Alamaodone being the front runner does not mean this is 100% the location, but it seems really good that it could be. Yet Sapp also noted that Seattle and New Orleans have also expressed interest in hosting the event next year as well.

If we do hear anything else regarding the 2023 Royal Rumble location, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
