Popular AEW Star Undergoes Surgery

Injuries are a very unfortunate thing in the world of pro wrestling. It is very rare to find a full-time pro wrestler who can go their full career without an injury. Now not all injuries require surgery but one popular AEW wrestler who was recently injured did have to undergo surgery.
Back on the July 20th AEW Collision from Arlington, Texas, a match between Hikaru Shida and Skye Blue had to be abruptly ended when Blue suffered an injury. Come out of the show it was revealed that Blue suffered a broken ankle and now we know that she has had surgery to fix the broken ankle.
On Tuesday, Blue’s fiancee Kyle Fletcher posted a photo on social media of Blue sitting on a bench in front of a sign that says “Day Surgery”. He captioned the photo with “send prayers and cat toys”.

As far as recovery time and when we could see Skye Blue back, that’s not known. We do not know the severity of the injury and recovery could be just a few short months but could also be upward of a year. As we have seen with Adam Cole, he suffered a broken ankle last October and is still out nine months later.
