NXT Superstar Explains Reason For Recent Name Change

It’s time to take a chance on Katana’s dance.

Recently we have seen a number of name changes in WWE. WALTER to Gunther, Pete Dunne to Butch, Kay Lee Ray to Alba Fyre, and Kacy Catanzaro to Katana Chance. The latter actually described the reason for the name change.

Last night WWE posted a video online hyping up a tag team match for next week’s NXT. Next week the team of Kayden Carter and Katana Chance will take on the team of Yulisa Leon and Valentina Forez. Chance, the former Kacy Catanzaro did reveal that she is now Katana Chance because with that she can party, dance, get loose and shoot back straight wiskey.

“Everyone knows me as Kacy Catanzaro, and that is me. But there are parts of me that people haven’t seen, except maybe Kayden, where I get to do what I want. And that’s like shooting back straight whiskey and letting loose. And Kayden isn’t the only one that can party and shake a little something. That is Katana Chance. And that is the energy that I’ll be bringing to NXT from now on.”

From what is being reported it seems as if more name changes could be coming as well in WWE. Last night we also saw Zack Gibson and James Drake only referred to as Drak & Gibson instead of the Grizzled Young Veterans.
