NXT Star Being Called Up Getting New Name As Soon As Tonight

Another name change is coming to an NXT wrestler.

When wrestlers come up in WWE, a good amount of time they get a name change. Piper Niven was changed to Doudrop, Dijakovic to T-Bar, Pete Dunne to Butch, and Walter to Gunther. Now it seems as if another NXT Superstar getting moved up is getting a name change.

WrestleVotes on Twitter first tweeted out that one NXT call-up is getting a name change that seems like the worst one yet. They stated this is one that seems like they just pulled names out of a hat.

There’s a name change for a debuting superstar tonight on SmackDown that is probably the worst one yet. Like picked from a hat and blindfolded, that’s how they got here type stuff.

Fightful then put out a report stating that Marcel Barthel is getting a name change. The report goes on to state that the new name is listed internally as “Ludwig Klaus.” The call-up would see Gunther and Barthel, now Ludwig Klaus, moving up tonight on Smackdown but without Fabian Aichner as previously reported.

It was also noted in the report that the word going around is that Raquel Gonzalez could also see a name change when she gets brought up to the main roster as well.
