Number One Contenders Match Set For Next Week’s Dynamite
January 16, 2020Chris Jericho’s next challenge will be known next week.
Next week AEW Dynamite comes to us from the Jericho Cruise and it will be a pre-taped show. With that, the show will feature an AEW World Championship number one contenders match. Tonight two men earned their entry into that match with victories at Bash At The Beach.
Tonight we saw what could be called two qualifying matches. In the first match, we saw Jon Moxley take on and defeat Sammy Guevara. Unfortunately, after the match, Moxley was brutally attacked by the Inner Circle where Chris Jericho stabbed Moxley in the eye with a spike from his jacket.
Something makes me think Le Champion @IAmJericho and the Inner Circle haven't forgiven @JonMoxley… #AEWDynamite pic.twitter.com/NxXtEcUB9f

When you say no to the #InnerCircle, you will have hell to pay.

Later on in the night, during the main event, we saw PAC defeat Darby Allin. After his match, he said he saw what happened to Moxley and thought he should just be declared the number one contender. He felt maybe Moxley would be unable to compete. We then saw Moxley being put into an ambulance. Moxley would then break out of said ambulance, come out on the stage and tell PAC that even if he was blink and half dead he will meet him in the ring next week to get his shot at Jericho and the title.
