Nick Khan States WWE Content Will Remain Family-Friendly On Netflix
December 5, 2024RAW will remain the same show on Netflix.
Coming up at the start of the new year Monday Night RAW will move from the USA Network to Netflix. Many have asked if the move could lead to some changes to the program like changing the rating of the show or allowing more adult themes. Yet it seems like much isn’t really changing with the move.
WWE President Nick Khan spoke on Tuesday at an event at the Netflix Headquarters in Los Angeles confirming there are no plans to change RAW’s advertiser rating. Noting how the show will not become edgier on Netflix and will remain family-friendly.
“We’re not changing the rating of our programming. So there’s some online chatter about, ‘Oh, it’s going to be R-rated, or for us old folks, X-rated.’ That’s definitely not happening,” Khan said. “It’s family-friendly, multi-generational, advertiser-friendly programming. It’s going to stay that way. I would look for more global flair, especially as the relationship continues to develop. Countries outside of the United States are as important to us as the United States is. So we have certain targeted countries that are priorities for Netflix. They’re priorities for us. You’re going to see more of that. I think that’s the way you’ll see a bit of a difference.”
Bryan Alvarez also noted on the Wednesday Wrestling Observer Live that the only real change he has heard about will come with crowd chants. He notes how one thing WWE is excited that won’t have to do on Netflix will be muting the crowds when they chant swear words. Other than that the show will largely be the exact same that we already get on the USA Network.
If we do hear anything further regarding the RAW move to Netflix, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
