Newly Signed Superstar Gets New Name In WWE
May 16, 2025Another wrestler gets a name change in WWE.
Last weekend at the WWE Backlash PLE, we saw the WWE debut of Jeff Cobb.He was placed with Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, helping Fatu retain the United States Championship. Michael Cole even called him Jeff Cobb at Backlash. Yet tonight on Smackdown we learned his new name.
It has been revealed that Jeff Cobb will now be going by the name “JC Mateo” in WWE. From the start of the night, Solo kept calling him JC, and we quickly learned the last name. WWE uploaded a clip from the opening segment of the show with the new name. Then later in the night, JC took on LA Knigh,t and the graphic on the screen did have the JC Mateo name with Joe Tessitore calling the full name as well.
