New Title Match Announced Fyter Fest

The AEW Women’s Title will be on the line in just a few weeks.

AEW had previously announced that during the two-week Fyter Fest event all championships will be defended. We already know that Jon Moxley will defend the AEW World Title against Brian Cage. Cody Will defend the TNT Title against Jake Hager. Also, Kenny Omega and Hangman Page will defend the Tag Team Titles against either Le sex Gods or Best Friends.

Now we know who Hikaru Shida will defend the Women’s Title against. Tony Schiavone announced tonight that Shida will defend her title against Penelope Ford. Last week in a tag team match Ford was able to pin the champion earning herself this title shot. Now here is the interesting thing is AW is all about their ranking and Ford is not ranked number one. She is actually ranked third bellow both Nyla Rose and the injured Kris Statlander so technically you can say she is second. Still, that is not number one.

The two-week AEW Fyter Fest event comes to us live and free on TNT on both July 1st and July 8th.
