New Details Regarding The AEW Departure Of Cody Rhodes

It looks like Cody left due to money.

Early Tuesday morning news came out that Cody and Brandi Rhodes were leaving All Elite Wrestling. Many started to report that it was very likely that Cody could be going to WWE and has already had talked with them. Now we have more details on what went down with the Rhodes and their departure.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Johnson reports that several weeks ago, Cody and Tony Khan hit a snag in negotiating a new deal for Cody. it was said that they were off on money and that is why Cody would not agree to sign a new deal.

Mike Coppinger of ESPN reported that Cody and Brandi were not at last week’s tapings in Atlantic City. Furthermore, the road case that is normally used for Cody’s gear and other belongings had been cleaned out as this was one of the first signs that he was “good as gone.”  Coopinger also stated that Cody informed Tony Khan this morning that leaving was the decision he was going to be making and announcing.

In a report from Fightful, they stated that many in the company thought that this could have been a work. Even last week when he was not at the show but by Friday most realized that the situation was becoming real when many found out that a new deal had not been made between the two sides.
