New Details On The Firing Of Steve Cutler
February 5, 2021Steve Cutler had heat for how he got COVID.
Yesterday the news broke that WWE had released Steve Cutler from the company. Cutler himself reacted on Twitter to the release call it “shocking.” Now we have some new interesting information that looks like it could have lead to Cutler’s release.
It was first reported by Fightful that Cutler had heat from Vice McMahon after contracting COVID in early January. Dave Meltzer gave some more details on why McMahon was upset over Cutler getting COVID. Meltzer’s report states that McMahon was mad after Cutler contracted COVID while attending a New Year’s Eve party. He stated that Vince promised people like Roman Reigns that he would provide a safe work environment. Meltzer states that he believes Cutler may be the first in the company fired for getting COVID.
Cutler getting COVID in early January was confirmed yesterday by his girlfriend and IMPACT Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo.
.@SteveCutlerWWE & I had tested positive for COVID, the beginning of January. We had no symptoms but took all precautions necessary.
Thanks for the well wishes but we are healthy and in good spirits. When one door closes, another opens. ❤️

Cutler now has a 90-day no-compete after being released by WWE before he can compete anywhere else. If that 90 days started yesterday, he would be able to work for another company starting on or around May 5th.
