New Championships Reportedly Being Introduced In NXT

NXT is getting more title belts.

This past week on NXT we saw Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez. The match itself ended in controversy when a second referee in the match called for the bell to end the match as Dakota Kai passed out to Shayna Baszler, yet Kai was actually not the legal competitor in the match.

After this match, we saw Willaima Regan and Adam Pearce arguing but did not hear what he said. Later Regal announced that next week he would make an announcement that will change the landscape of NXT. On our post-NXT review, we speculated that Women’s Tag Team Championships could be coming to NXT and it looks like that is the case.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Meltzer does report that NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships are coming but does not give any more details past that little line. It looks like this will be the announcement Regal will make next week on NXT.
