Multiple New Champions Crowned At AEW Full Gear

Multiple New Champions Crowned At AEW Full Gear

November 7, 2020 1 By Tim Jarrell

Two title changes took place tonight.

Tonight was the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view and the show was met with mixed reviews. Most seemed to really enjoy the show but there were some who felt the show was somewhat average or just a little better than. With that, a few news-worthy things happened including two title changes on the show.

First of we saw Cody Rhodes defend the TNT Championship against Darby Allin. The match was mostly Cody being the bigger guy dominating the smaller guy with the smaller guy sometimes getting some moves in. In the end, the two exchanged cradles a few times before Allin caught Rhodes to pin him and become the new TNT Champion.

The other title change was with the AEW World Tag Team Titles. The match saw FTR defending against The Young Bucks. The Bucks stated beforehand that if they do not win tonight they would never challenge for the title again. The match saw a back and forth contest with a lot of selling and tributes paid to historic tag teams of the past. In the end, The Young Bucks were able to pull out just enough to catch FTR make a mistake, capitalize on it and pick up the win to become the AEW World Tag Team Champions for the first time.

As far as other title matches tonight, on The Buy-In we saw Serene Deeb defend the NWA World Women’s Title against Allysin Kay. Hikaru Shida was able to retain the AEW Women’s World title against Nyla rose and on Moxley defended the AEW World Title against Eddie Kingston in an “I Quit” match.
