Multiple Matches & More Announced For Next Week’s RAW

Three matches were announced for RAW next week.

Tonight’s Monday Night RAW was the first RAW of the new year and the show saw mixed reactions from the fans as far as liking the show or not. The one thing you can not knock WWE for though is actually planning stuff in advanced. Typically we go into a Monday and WWE has not announced more than one or two things for an episode of RAW and sometimes they don’t announce anything. Well at the end of tonight’s show they actually announced a number of things for next week.

First off WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman opened tonight’s show. They declared that as the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar would be entering this year’s Royal Rumble as the number one entrant. It was later announced that Lesnar will once again be on the show next week. It’s a rare sight that we see Lesnar on the show multiple weeks in a row.

As far as matches go we learned of three matches for next week. First off, tonight Aleister Black took on and defeated Shelton Benjamin. As soon as the match ended Black was attacked by Buddy Murphy. Murphy would attack Black in the ring and at ringside leaving Black lying on the floor after a hard knee to the chin. Next week the two will once again meet in singles action.

Also announced for next week’s show is another rematch. After last week’s wedding that ended with Rusev and Liv Morgan standing tall, tonight Lana and Bobby Lashley finally completed their goal this week officially being married. Rusev would once again interrupt the festivities tonight and would be challenged to a match by Lashley. Rusev would accept the match set for next week.

Finally, this week’s main event will basically run back again next week. Tonight we saw Seth Rollins and the AOP take on Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe and Big Show in a six-man tag team match. The end of the match came via disqualification when Rollins hit Big Show with a chair. Big Show then laid Rollins out with a KO punch and that set up next week. Next week on RAW these two teams will meet again but this time in a Fist Fight.

Next week’s Monday Night RAW comes to us from inside the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky and live on the USA Network.
