Movie In The Works About WWE Hall Of Famer

An Olympic story is going to be told.

Over the years we have seen movies and TV shows come out about professional wrestling. Yet there are not many in pro wrestling that can get a movie made about them that doesn’t even need to talk about pro wrestling at all. There is one and he is in the WWE Hall of Fame.

While speaking with WFAN, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle revealed that a movie about him is in the works. He noted how the film will be about his upbringing and his path to winning an Olympic Gold Medal but not his career in pro wrestling. Angle said the script is done and now they are looking for investors before they begin casting.

“I got a movie going on, I’m really proud of this. It’s a really great story. It’s about a kid from the streets of Pittsburgh who overcomes all these obstacles, including a broken neck, to win the Olympic gold medal.

It’s only about my Olympic career, it’s not about my pro wrestling career. The directors are Ian and Eshom Nelms. They want this movie to be like a ‘Rocky’ type feel with a little bit of ‘The Fighter’ and ‘Iron Claw’ mixed in.

I’m really excited about it. I’m going to be working behind the scenes for the first time. I won’t be in front of the camera. I’m really excited for the world to see it. We want to release it in theaters. It’s going to be a lot of fun for me. It’s probably the most excited I’ve been since the Olympics.

Right now, we just got the script done. We’re shopping for investors, which shouldn’t be a problem. After that, we pick the cast. This is going to happen probably in the next three months. We have a few (casting candidates), I can’t say any names, but we have a few good names we’re thinking about.”

The big question now is who would play Kurt in the movie? it would also be interesting what other names are portrayed in the fil and if they were to get into any of the Foxcatcher story that we saw told on the big screen back in 2015 as some say a Kurt Angle character should have been portrayed in the film as well.
