More Details On WWE’s ThunderDome, How Much They Are Paying For Rent & More
August 17, 2020WWE will reside from the Amway Center for two months with a good deal.
We know that starting this Friday till at least October 30, all episodes of RAW and Smackdown including pay-per-view events will emanate from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. WWE is dubbing the arena the “ThunderDome’ during their residency with some cool things they will be trying to do for those live shows.
Today after WWE made their announcement, the Mayor of Orlando also spoke on the partnership between WWE and the Amway Center.
I asked City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer if #WWE would eventually be able to extend its lease at Amway Center or allow fans, but he just reiterated the lease runs for 60 days and they plan to tape events on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays (PPV). #ThunderDome pic.twitter.com/lVMbjAxNqQ

We have also learned courtesy of a report from Jon Alba, that WWE will be paying $450,000 to rent out the Amway Center for two months. This is an incredible deal WWE is getting to use the arena for live tapings. Not only is it a good deal for WWE, but also good for the venue that has been sitting empty not making any money for months.
More news: My @MyNews13 colleague @News13JeffAllen says City of Orlando officials tell him Amway Center will be making about $450,000 off #WWE's residency.
Given WWE has been off the road for most of the year, that's a bargain for the company, and good money for venue.
