Mixed Tag Team Match Announced For The Jericho Cruise

Mixed Tag Team Match Announced For The Jericho Cruise

January 22, 2020 0 By Tim Jarrell

Kenny Omega is getting his match.

AEW has announced that the first-ever mixed tag team match in the company is officially set. Kenny Omega and AEW Women’s World Champion Riho will take on Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford. The match will be taking place on the Jericho Cruise but it was not stated if it will be filmed, streamed or aired anywhere.

The match itself was teased a few weeks ago on Being The Elite when Sabian stated he and Ford are the best intergender team in the world. They would then go on to make fun of Omega and Riho. Also in a recent ‘Room Service with Wrestlers‘ video Omega talked about wanting a mixed tag match in AEW and the Bucks told him they are all Executive Vice Presidents and they can just make the match.

Today, AEW posted a video that kind of did not make sense where it was said that since the Jericho Cruise is over international water the mixed tag can now happen. I did not know there was a rule that intergender type matches can’t happen in the United States. To my knowledge that was never mentioned by AEW before. Sabian barged into a room where Omega and The Young Bucks were asking for the match and all three as Executive Vice Presidents voted for the match to happen.

For the way they have built this match up and for them to announce this match on social media one would assume the match will be put up somewhere. One thing we have been told by people on the cruise is the internet is so bad on the boat they can’t really use their phone much so they may not even see this video on social media anyways. If we do hear anything about where we may be able to watch this match we will keep you updated.
