Major WWE Superstar Get His Name Changed

October 29, 2020 0 By Tim Jarrell

One of WWE’s most popular superstars has lost his first name.

Over the years we have seen WWE chop people’s names in half. Antonio Cesaro went to just Cesaro, Andrade “Cien” Almas went to just Andrade and even Big E Langston became just Big E. We have also seen guys like Apollo Crews and Mustafa Ali get their names cut in half only to get them back not long after. Now, WWE has chopped one of their most popular superstar’s name in half.

If you look on the WWE roster page and scroll down to the ‘M’ section hoping to find Matt Riddle you will not because “Matt” is no longer part of his name. WWE has changed Matt Riddle’s name to just simply Riddle. According to PWInsider, they report that a decision on this was officially made earlier today.

It is not known who’s idea it was for the name change or when they first started contemplating this change.

Matt Riddle debuted on the main roster earlier this year on the Smackdown brand and feuded with King Corbin. In the 2020 WWE Draft, Riddle was drafted over to RAW and since has lost to both AJ Styles and Sheamus.

If we hear anything else on Matt Riddle now just simply being called Riddle, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
