Major Update On Samoa Joe Returning To NXT, Role, Wrestling & More
June 14, 2021It looks like the former NXT Champion is back.
Over the last few days it has been reported that Samoa Joe would be coming back to WWE after being released back in April. Yet him coming back would be for NXT and not the main roster. Also, the original report said it could be for a wrestling role but now we have more information on that.
First off overnight, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio stated that Joe is back in, but as a non-wrestler. Meltzer stated that Joe is being brought in for a William Regal like role. He also speculated that with Joe coming in in this sort of a role possible as a new general manager of NXT, this could mean Joe is not cleared to compete and why he is deciding to come back to WWE and not sign with another company.
Also, according to a new report from Fightful, they reported that Triple H was a major proponent of bringing back to NXT. The report states that soon as Triple H heard Joe was released he wanted to try and get him back for NXT. It was also noted that Joe was at the WWE Performance Center last Tuesday speaking with officials.
At the end of NXT TakeOver: In Your House, current general manager William Regal stated there is a lot of bedlam in NXT right now. He said because of this there is a need for change. WWE did announce overnight that this Tuesday Regal is looking to bring change to NXT. The rumor is that Samoa Joe could be brought in as a new general manager for NXT who could get control of the brand and wrestlers on it.
If we do hear anything else regarding Samoa Joe and his new role in NXT, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
