Major Possible Issue For Tonight’s Smackdown
November 6, 2020Some may not be able to see some of Smackdown tonight.
As the week closes in on the weekend it becomes more and more apparent that Joe Biden is on track to defeat Donald Trump to become the new President of the United States. With that, we have seen the Democratic nominee on TV a few times since Tuesday’s election and we may see him again tonight.
Joe Biden’s campaign has informed major news media to be ready Friday night in prime-time for a possible speech from the former Vince President. With Biden now taking a lead in the votes in both Pennsylvania and Georgia many think the race is over and Biden has won. If that is the case Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are ready to give their acceptance speech tonight in prime-time on TV.
If this does go down as scheduled, this could impact Smackdown tonight on FOX. FOX could cut the feed of Smackdown and send it live to Joe Biden’s speech in the middle of the show. If that is the case there is a chance FOX moves the remainder of Smackdown over to FS1, but it is not 100% known if that will happen and if in moving the show if anything will get missed. Another scenario is FOX not cutting in on Smackdown at all and only airing the speech on FOX News. The thing with that is if it is an actual acceptance speech by Biden and Harris then FOX is going to want it on their network with potentially the most viewers.
We were told here earlier today by one source that WWE is already expecting something like this to happen and that Vince McMahon thinks it’s more likely to happen than not.
As far as what “in prime-time” means, some news websites have said that Biden is planning to go live at 8pm ET with others saying 9pm ET. Either way that would be up against tonight’s Friday Night Smackdown.
If we do hear anything else on this major situation for Smackdown tonight, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
