Latest Update On Mustafa Ali’s Current WWE Status

Ali may still have a while before he is out of WWE.

Back on January 16th, Mustafa Ali went public to state that he had announced his release from WWE. It was then reported that he was not granted the release. Reports stated that he was told there was too much “value” in him to grant him his release. Now we know a little more about his current status in WWE.

According to a new report from Fightful, they do report that not only was Ali not granted his release from the company but he still has “well over a year, at least” left on his current deal. No specific expiration date or even window is known though.

it was also stated in the report that one WWE Superstar did pitch Ali being in the Royal Rumble and Ali eliminating them. Yet last Saturday Ali did tweet out about how he did not care about being in the Royal Rumble match itself.

Ali has not been backstage at a WWE event since last November after requesting only one week off for paternity leave. It is unclear what will come of all of this, whether Ali will get his release from the company or he returns to TV before his deal expires with WWE.
