Latest Speculation On Cody Rhodes Facing Seth Rollins At WrestleMania

It looks like many still expect the American Nightmare to WWE.

At the end of last year, Cody Rhodes’ contract expired with All Elite Wrestling and the option attached to it was not picked up. When the news came out that he had become a free agent, many started speculating what his next move would be. It was then revealed that Cody had had talks with WWE. Then rumors started going around that he would possibly face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania. Yet with WrestleMania only two weeks away they have still not indicated that Cody is actually coming in outside of some possible teases.

With many still under the impression that Rhodes is coming into WWE Dave Meltzer stated on Observer Radio that WWE is still under the impression that Rhodes will sign and face Rollins at WrestleMania.

“Yeah, he’s coming. I mean, that’s it. He’s coming, he’s wrestling Seth at WrestleMania unless something changes, and I don’t expect… I sure watched this [Raw] not thinking anything’s changing.”

As far as Monday Night RAW does go, there are only two more episodes of the show before WrestleMania it is still not known how and when Rhodes will return to WWE and set up the match with Rollins. Meltzer suggested they should do it like The Hardy Boyz at WrestleMania 34 and not have them appear till the Mania itself.

“How they do it, I think they may end up doing the Hardys thing, where you know they’re coming but they don’t announce it, and they get the big pop, they show up the day of the show. They may be doing that one. But they’ve played up so big, Seth Rollins and WrestleMania. Again, he didn’t do an angle with anybody else, there’s nobody left. It’s not like they downplayed him because he’s not on the card, which is what you do in this scenario if someone’s not one the card. You downplay them because you’ve got so many people that you’ve got to get over for WrestleMania, so yeah, I think it’s pretty obvious what’s going on. When it’s going to be announced, or even if it will be announced… but it’s a big part of the show now, Seth Rollins and WrestleMania.”

Now you may ask why we still believe in all the speculation since WWE has not done anything to tease Cody Rhodes coming in, well you may be wrong. Last night after Rollins lost to Kevin Owens, Cory Graves stated “Seth Rollins is not going to partake in WrestleMania. This is… All Seth Rollins hopes and WrestleMania dreams were dashed tonight.”

Jimmy Smith then stated, “The vision has become an absolute nightmare for Seth Rollins as he will be watching the most stupendous WrestleMania of all time from home.”

Also on the WWE website, it states “KO dashes Seth “Freakin” Rollins’ Wrestlemania dreams in will brawl” with many thinking that dashes are code from Cody’s old “Dashing” Cody Rhodes character.

The nightmare reference from Jimmy Smith all RAW of course could be alluding to Cody being called “The American Nightmare.”

Again there are still two weeks left till WrestleMania and the belief is that Cody Rhodes is coming back to WWE and is slated to be facing Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas. If we do hear anything else regarding Cody coming back to WWE, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
