Latest On Matt Riddle Being Suspended & Sent To Rehab By WWE

There are some contradicting reports on what is going on with Mat Riddle.

Earlier this week a report came out from BodySlam.net stating that the reason Matt Riddle was written off tv was that he had been suspended by WWE. They would go on to state he had failed his second drug test this year and the company sent him to rehab. Now it looks like there could be some conflicting reports with that first report.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer does state that everything going on with Riddle seems to contradict WWE’s current drug testing policy. He wrote that if Riddle was suspended back before SummerSlam that should have been a 30-day suspension. Riddle was only off from July 25th to August 20th which is only 26 days.

A second failure would result in a 60-day suspension and WWE has stated Riddle will only be out for six weeks. Yet six weeks is only 42 days so that again is not the time period WWE has stated in their drug testing policy unless something was changed.

Meltzer would go on to state that one source close to the situation noted that Riddle needed time off due to the pressure of going through a divorce. Yet sources closest to Riddle have yet to comment on the story whatsoever.
