Latest On Drew McIntyre’s Contract & Recent Injury
February 27, 2024McIntyre is still not locked in with WWE
For a while now a topic of discussion has been Drew McIntyre’s contract with WWE and if he would remain with the company once it is up. last year Drew stated that it all really depended on what plans the company had for him and if he was going to be doing anything meaningful or not. One recent report also stated that WWE/TKO had not approached McIntyre about a new deal yet, but that does not seem the case.
According to a new report from DailyMail, they report that despite word going around on the internet, Drew McIntyre has not signed a new contract with WWE. They do state that McInyre has been talking to WWE about re-signing for close to a year with nothing being agreed to. They also add what we have already heard McIntyre’s contract had time added to it due to the time he missed last year due to injury.
As far as the two sides talking about a new deal for McIntyre, the report states that talks aren’t close to being finalized but are still ongoing. They mention how McIntyre wants to know how he is going to be used and that this has been a big point of contention in the past. Yet he is said to be much happier with his creativite now. It is also understood that money is not a stumbling block for not getting the new deal signed.
When it comes to McIntyre saying that he suffered a ruptured ear drum in the Elimination Chamber, Mike Johnson of PWInsider has confirmed that the injury is 100%. Johnson did not state if the injury would impact any current plans, yet as McIntyre stated last night on RAW, he said this will not keep him from wrestling Seth Rollins for the World Title at WrestleMania 40.
With that, if we do hear anything further about Drew McIntyre’s contract status and ear injury, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
