Latest On Daniel Garcia’s Contract Status With AEW
July 30, 2024Garcia’s AEW future is in question.
It was reported about a month or so ago that Daniel Garcia’s contract with WWE was set to expire later this year and that the company wanted to retain him. A report from Fightful even stated that they were told by a source that they did not believe he would go anywhere even with some thinking he may have already re-signed. Yet that may not be the case.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer stated that the reason they did the angle with MJF where Garcia was stretchered out was to potentially write him off and out of AEW. The word is he may not come back and if he does then they have the built-in storyline with him and MJF.
As stated it is unknown if Daniel Garcia will or will not sign a new deal to stay with All Elite Wrestling. We do know that back in 2021 he had a WWE tryout that was said to have gone well and led to him lone NXT match where he lost to Tyler Rust.
Garcia had his first match in AEW in September of 2020 and a year later in October of 2021, it was announced that he had signed with the company. If he did sign then and his contract is coming up then that would mean he signed a three-year deal that could be up between now and October of this year.
