One of the biggest talking points in pro wrestling right now is what will the next television deal look like for All Elite Wrestling. Will they get a new deal with Warner Bros. Discovery and if so will it finally make the company profitable? If not then where could they land next? Now we have an update on the deal being worked on.
According to a new report from Fightful, despite reports saying a new deal between AEW and WBD was imminent, they state that one is not. Now as far as what imminent actually means, Fightful has it meaning in the next few days. Neither company is currently planning on announcing anything at this time and the framework of a deal has not been agreed on by both sides. Both sides expect a new idea but have nothing to announce right now. Word is the relationship between the two sides continues to be amicable.
A meeting between Tony Khan and David Zaslav, the heads of AEW and WBD, is set for next week in Paris as both will be there for the Olympics according to sources. The meeting itself has been planned for months, but it was stressed that it does not guarantee a deal will be reached next week.
Finally, sources state that an offer has likely been made, but as of today has not been agreed on. The report states that they heard of a deal months ago from WBD to AEW and things continued to be negotiated.
